Dare You Live With Me!

Just yesterday I was reading about the golden jubilee celebrations of a famous couple. It seemed a perfect 'happy ever after' sort of after married life. I call it 'after married life' because we all know how hunky dory and dove eyed life is after marriage.

Coincidentally, it's Karva Chauth after a couple of days. The fast to wish a happy married life ever after and beyond seven births. That's great!

When we all have so much faith on love and marriage and on our partners, then what the hell breaks loose when a small tiff comes out!

Why we forget our dreams of a happily ever after? Because, there is no Ever After. There is only now or never. We believe in instant gratification.

It's not LOVE as we all know. It's all LOBH or greediness in our hearts and in our minds. We expect too much in return for what we think we have given. Love never expects but believes in happiness of beloved. But, here we all are.

It has become shop keeping. You give me this, I'll give you that. You do this for me and I'll do that for you. Your family does this so I'll do that to your family! And mind you, most of the times this shop keeping costs us a lot.

We expect too much. Too very much. We expect leniency of punishment at our turn but when our partners slip, we are on their backs with a knife of our tongues. Tongue lashing is, we all are experts in.

When it comes to dispense opinion about others, we are quick to judge and give our verdict. We always have a ready reckoner to help them find their path. But when it's our turn, we are nowhere near that ready reckoner.

The fault is always of our spouse, his/her family, friends and everyone even remotely related to him or her.

But excuse me, not ours!

Even when we know in our hearts - who is to be blamed, we accept not.

That is human psychology.

There is one more golden wedding card invitation lying on the table, waiting for my attention.

I look at it. I wonder, if it would be happily ever after or just another tussle of families and spouses!
