Itchy Head

It was a tea time discussion among us, when one of our senior doctor colleague started a new thread.  She was getting a mixed bout of feelings when she shared her thoughts with us.  These thoughts were further evoked brain storming when I visited many villages and small towns of Rajasthan and found that this is something which really needed our attention. DO WE WISH OUR KIDS TO STAY WITH US OR SETTLE ABROAD ? Her daughter was getting a scholarship to Singapore and she was supposed to join the said institution after her studies, that meant that her daughter would be gone out of her sweet home for about a decade, if not less! Now, my colleague feared that once her daughter would be out of this country, she might never return to her as most of the young generation kids do. We laughed and consoled her that being so educated, independent and liberal person, how could she refrain her kid to make decision for her life? HER ANSWER ...

Everybody wants to be rich.  It seems everybody wants to be rich in future. In a distant 'some day'... If I tell you that you don't have to wait for that 'some day' to be rich, to feel rich and to act rich, then? You don't believe? This is not hoax. I'm not talking out of nothing. It is here and now. I know, you have started calculating your money in your pockets and your bank and the loans, which you have to pay. Now, you would start doubting me as what I am talking about? So, let get to the point. START WITH YOURSELF. Are you living the way, you want to live when you would be rich?  Are you using all the resources bestowed on you by your circumstances. Are you tapping them all to get the best out of them? Think.  We are as rich and as poor as we think and perceive.  I have seen people who store things. This request I make out of my compassion for all the women, who strive day in and day out to make this world a lovable and livable place.  I know, how hard it is, to keep all strings of life together, to keep everyday a sane perspective, look calm and collected, amidst the tempest of life, as soon as the day begins. gettyimages I am compelled to write this post because I have seen enough of pain and stress women take.  Life is full of mistakes but this year let's resolve to find out if you are a trap to any of these?  If you know someone like her, then show encouragement and share some kind words to motivate her to achieve her purpose in life. Most of us keep waiting for the perfect day to pop up somewhere. But no. That day never comes perhaps because all the days are same. Only our perception and attitude changes the day from good to bad or bad to good. With technological advances, we are carried away by the success stories or the portrayals of selfie obsessed people and start believing them word by word. No world is perfect for anybody. The difference lies in our head.  We have to make the difference and for that purpose it's damn important that we do our best at this moment rather than waiting for a rose garden across the shore. All of us can not be the moon but we can be a star in the arena we are working right now.  We can be a good human being. We can be a little more kind and compassionate.  We don't need to strangulate our relationships under the burden of false expectations. When we come on this Earth, we already have so many strings attached to ourselves. These strings are in the form of expectations.  The ups and downs of life must not deter us from doing the doable - our duties From a baby to our journey upwards, we have to constantly confirm to the demands set by others. Sometimes, we are successful in getting our way and many a times we have to pave the way. We have to succumb to the demands of 'others', who are very much a part of ourselves but they refuse to understand us. When we seek the approvals we are told ' use your head', but when we take the plunge we are frowned upon ' Did you even ask me?'. It's a dual mindset society.  Conviction is the key.
