Purpose in life:)

When we come on this Earth, we already have so many strings attached to ourselves. These strings are in the form of expectations. 

The ups and downs of life must not deter us from doing the doable - our duties
From a baby to our journey upwards, we have to constantly confirm to the demands set by others. Sometimes, we are successful in getting our way and many a times we have to pave the way. We have to succumb to the demands of 'others', who are very much a part of ourselves but they refuse to understand us.

When we seek the approvals we are told ' use your head', but when we take the plunge we are frowned upon ' Did you even ask me?'. It's a dual mindset society. 

Conviction is the key. Do we always have to look up to others for our deeds.  At every step in our life we must take the fear head on - No matter I don't confirm to their standards; if my deeds are good for myself, I make something worthwhile then it's ok to follow my heart and not be part of the herd. My deeds must bring a smile should not be destructive to anyone - that's a purpose worthwhile.

Wish. Mannat. Dua. Have you ever tried making a wish and realizing it getting true. Even that not so happening wishes for ice cream or your new iPod or for that oh so nice person in your life! People visit temple, mosque, church, gurudwara and whatnot. All the places are the same to me. You know, why? Because they make your wishes come true. But how? When we say we are part of nature and God is our own depiction then how come people visit different places of worship and still realize their wish or mannat. Why we have different gods in our hearts; we seek differently things; we believe in different belief systems but still we realize our individual wish or mannat fulfilled. Why? Delhi getting colder

I move. No. Do I say I shiver? Yes. I am shivering so I am moving. I am not moving ever since this winter has attacked full on in Delhi and I seem to be the most affected, I suppose. People are roaming around even in their half sleeves but I can’t even imagine myself without my four sweaters, one jacket, two layers of lowers, caps, gloves and socks to be the least items covering me from head to toe. A few days back, I saw a lady in Metro, in a half sleeves dress and seeing her left me in cold but this time I didn't react because I knew she was well off to afford a sweater and she was not in that strata of 'poor lady not having anything warm' types so I ignored. But last year, I literally made a mistake of melting on seeing a girl without socks  and sweater and I somehow felt pity on her. I removed my socks and sweater and stretched to offer them to that girl. She thanklessly and mercilessly took them and threw in the nearest dustbin available.

It was a tea time discussion among us, when one of our senior doctor colleague started a new thread.  She was getting a mixed bout of feelings when she shared her thoughts with us.  These thoughts were further evoked brain storming when I visited many villages and small towns of Rajasthan and found that this is something which really needed our attention. DO WE WISH OUR KIDS TO STAY WITH US OR SETTLE ABROAD ? Her daughter was getting a scholarship to Singapore and she was supposed to join the said institution after her studies, that meant that her daughter would be gone out of her sweet home for about a decade, if not less! Now, my colleague feared that once her daughter would be out of this country, she might never return to her as most of the young generation kids do.
