Itchy Head

What is life without colors? Books are an exception. They can be colorful without colors. 'M om,these are for you.' my ten year old brought two thick Harry Potter series for me. I was flabbergasted.  'Soooooo thick books!'  I always encouraged book reading in my house or so I thought. In fact, my house is a mini library or sort of.  I was myself a bookworm type of a kid ever since I knew myself but I was more like Alice in wonderland. I love pictures in a book. No dull words please!  Reading books without pictures makes me sleepy and that too thick novels like these? No way! Anyhow, I can't bubble out my thoughts when my kids are so enthusiastic about bringing those all hyped books for me. I show delight. They want a commitment that I would read these - from beginning till end. I feel like - No Way! but I just smile in a non committal way. Now, the task.  Each day, my darling kids ask me,'Mom,have you read the books?'...

Most of us keep waiting for the perfect day to pop up somewhere. But no. That day never comes perhaps because all the days are same. Only our perception and attitude changes the day from good to bad or bad to good. With technological advances, we are carried away by the success stories or the portrayals of selfie obsessed people and start believing them word by word. No world is perfect for anybody. The difference lies in our head.  We have to make the difference and for that purpose it's damn important that we do our best at this moment rather than waiting for a rose garden across the shore. All of us can not be the moon but we can be a star in the arena we are working right now.  We can be a good human being. We can be a little more kind and compassionate.  We don't need to strangulate our relationships under the burden of false expectations. What more is needed?  A smile a day is more than enough to make this day and a sincere effort to carry on wit...

Kids need love & understanding. Nothing is more important than our bonding with them, not even their studies. They need to be nurtured not forced upon with instructions. They learn by example.  We have our careers for our reasons. Our children never forced us to bring them in this world. We brought them here because of our selfish reasons.  They were pure souls oblivious of their journey of coming into our worlds. We have a responsibility towards them.  We can't blame them. We need to take responsibility first. I am witness to the ordeal of a small child near my neighborhood and sharing her life with you. May be it could show a mirror to many of us, who have forgotten a few things in the journey of parenting - M y mom is very beautiful; everybody says so.
