Imperfect Housewife

'You'r a housewife, how come u r short of time?' 'You've all time in the world at you disposal.' 'What you've to do anyway throughout the day but to just watch tv and linger around for shopping.' and all this bullshit.

Hah! 

How can people just take a housewife so granted. You know if I just strike for a day, the whole house crumble down at your knees. It's only I - who take mercy on you morons to take care of you and your people so that you carry on a 'oh so nice smelling,well dressed,well fed fellow.' Even if that means I didn't take a bath throughout the day and couldn't afford a sit down single meal for myself.

I am your production house, which puts the whole picture together. I manage your cash and even your cashlessness then why you show this callousness towards me. 

I know the hole in your socks but stitch it together to mend your ego in the world. I paint the rosy picture to make your life high on this highway of life.  

I stand by your side more in the times of lows than in the times of high (because that's the time you rejoice with 'your family and friends') and conveniently overlook me. 

I sacrificed my career and my people to be with you, even if that meant life long dependence but you took it as my weakness to face the world.

Mind you, as you made me recall all this, I take the keys of my life and here I am going out shopping, splurging all that hard earned money which you toiled for weeks together, to uplift my mood which you so severely bruised for a cup of coffee,which you refused to make for ME-your only wife. 

So, next time you better be careful. If I can make you, I can break you too.

Wish. Mannat. Dua. Have you ever tried making a wish and realizing it getting true. Even that not so happening wishes for ice cream or your new iPod or for that oh so nice person in your life! People visit temple, mosque, church, gurudwara and whatnot. All the places are the same to me. You know, why? Because they make your wishes come true. But how? When we say we are part of nature and God is our own depiction then how come people visit different places of worship and still realize their wish or mannat. Delhi getting colder

I move. No. Do I say I shiver? Yes. I am shivering so I am moving. I am not moving ever since this winter has attacked full on in Delhi and I seem to be the most affected, I suppose. People are roaming around even in their half sleeves but I can’t even imagine myself without my four sweaters, one jacket, two layers of lowers, caps, gloves and socks to be the least items covering me from head to toe. A few days back, I saw a lady in Metro, in a half sleeves dress and seeing her left me in cold but this time I didn't react because I knew she was well off to afford a sweater and she was not in that strata of 'poor lady not having anything warm' types so I ignored. But last year, I literally made a mistake of melting on seeing a girl without socks  and sweater and I somehow felt pity on her. I removed my socks and sweater and stretched to offer them to that girl. She thanklessly and mercilessly took them and threw in the nearest dustbin available.

It was a tea time discussion among us, when one of our senior doctor colleague started a new thread.  She was getting a mixed bout of feelings when she shared her thoughts with us.  These thoughts were further evoked brain storming when I visited many villages and small towns of Rajasthan and found that this is something which really needed our attention. DO WE WISH OUR KIDS TO STAY WITH US OR SETTLE ABROAD ? Her daughter was getting a scholarship to Singapore and she was supposed to join the said institution after her studies, that meant that her daughter would be gone out of her sweet home for about a decade, if not less! Now, my colleague feared that once her daughter would be out of this country, she might never return to her as most of the young generation kids do.
